National Library Week 2013

Using EndNote featuring Cite While You Write
This workshop presumes that attendees have a basic familiarity with EndNote.  In this workshop, you will learn how to use Cite While You Write with Microsoft Word.  Cite While You Write allows you to insert references into your paper as you write it, saving you tons of time.  Most importantly, the reference list will automatically be generated in the format that you select.  Attendees will also learn how to modify output styles.

Mobile Apps for Medicine
Handheld devices are commonplace in today’s medical practice.  They can be used at the point of care to access information on diagnosis, patient care, and pharmaceutical dosing.

In this workshop, an online tour of the handheld research guide will be given. This tour will expose attendees to the various library resources that offer Mobile Apps and sources for software downloads.

Using Images in Presentations
Please note:  This is an online workshop via AdobeConnect.  Registration is NOT required.  Please log in as a Guest.  This workshop will be recorded.

Because medicine is a visual science, high quality images are an important aid in diagnosis and teaching. In this workshop, participants will learn how to locate images in SpringerImages for use in presentations.  Participants will learn how to create a personal account in SpringerImages.  A personal account allows users to save images and searches for future use, and create PowerPoint presentations and PDF files. Using images from AccessMedicine, MD Consult, UpToDate, VisualDx, and the library’s Images Research Guide will be discussed but not demonstrated.

If you’ve never used AdobeConnect, please log in early to run through the “tech check.”
