On Tuesday October 14, prior to a speaking event featuring
Gustavo Arellano, Pat Vader, Executive Director of the Harriet K. and Philip
Pumerantz Library, was presented with a plaque and certificate of appreciation by
Pomona’s Mayor, Elliot Rothman.
Ms. Vader was honored for her hard work as the
Chair of Pomona Pubic Library’s Together We Read Program, and for helping to
re-invigorate the public’s interest in the local public library.
Together We
Read is Pomona Public Library’s local continuance of the NEA’s Big Read program
but is locally funded and staffed by community volunteers. The staff of the
Pumerantz Library is honored and proud of Ms. Vader and her accomplishment.
